Lamphun is one of the oldest continuously occupied towns in northern Thailand. This clay Buddha design is among the most famous and ancient in Thailand, dating over 800 ago. Our beautiful replicas are mounted in vintage shuttle anywhere from 10-50 years old.

The Kmer civilization produced some of the most incredible architecture the world has ever known. The ancient capitol of Angkor Wat in present day Cambodia is a city temple and often compared as something on par with the massive pyramids of Egypt. The people of this civilization were inspired by Buddha and created much art to reflect this reverence.
The small clay Kmer replica we offer here depicts the Lord Buddha sheltered by the Naga, a huge serpent-like creature. The design style is over 700 years old.

This clay replica is from the Lopburi region of Thailand. However the design comes from a time when this region was actually occupied by the Kmer civilization. The posture of the hands by the side of body is similar to a standing meditation of "wu chi" or before heaven in Chinese Taoist philosophy.

All these are vintage loom shuttle from Southeast Asia, cleaned and restored with a cotton bobbin. Wood types vary greatly but often are either teak or rosewood.
Thai Black Buddha
The black clay of this replica really looks more like ancient stone. The posture is where the Lord Buddha is touching the earth with one hand, the Earth Witness mudra. This is the moment where he is said to have gained enlightenment and the earth itself rumbled and told the demon Mara and all his monsters "I bear him witness".
It is a great story and one with a wonderful message about Mother Nature in support of our spiritual path.

In one sense, however, it is a practice of embracing the world but renouncing the materialism of human affairs. In any case it is a very famous icon, and one familiar to modern people where wandering has become more common than many might realize.
The important thing to remember is that while the wanderer may dispense with ritual and the pressures of the household, they still endeavor towards good conduct, and loving kindness.

PREAMBLE
We at Spirit Shuttle thank you for your business! Please understand our products are all individual, and hand made. The loom shuttles from our vintage have typically been used for many years and will have any number of wear marks. To collectors these unique features are usually considered desirable. And naturally sizes/appearances will vary somewhat from what is pictured. If you wish to purchase multiple units we suggest you to first buy a sample of the product to be sure you are satisfied with the general design.

WHEN WE WILL SHIP YOUR ORDER
We normally ship orders within 5-10 business days. If you need your order sooner contact us to request a rush order.
SHIPPING COST
Presently we ship U.S. Postal Service and shipping cost is estimated for us by our Paypal service. If this is in gross error we will notify you and request an adjustment purely for the purpose of covering the actual shipping fees that we must incur. If there is a discrepancy in shipping we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a refund.
CANCELLATION
You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placement by sending an email with order number to us at Spirit Shuttle.
RETURNS
To return a product, you will need to contact Spirit Shuttle at leifjoslyn@msn.com for authorization to return and to get a Return Authorization number (RA#) within 7 business days of receipt of merchandise. Returns without a RA# will be refused and returned to you at your expense. RA's ARE ONLY GOOD FOR 14 BUSINESS DAYS FROM THE ISSUE DATE (allowing time for delivery). Return merchandise in its original packaging with shipping prepaid and insured against loss.
Please note there is a 25% restocking fee deducted for returned (NOT EXCHANGED) merchandise. MERCHANDISE MUST BE IN ITS ORIGINAL PACKAGING AND IN RESALEABLE CONDITION, OTHERWISE WE CANNOT REFUND YOU.
EXCHANGES
To exchange an item, you will need to contact us within 15 business days of receipt of merchandise. You are responsible for freight both ways and additional fees if the replacement product is priced higher than the first. If there is credit due you, we will issue this back to your credit card.
BREAKAGE CLAIMS
Please contact us immediately (WITHIN 24 HOURS) at leifjoslyn@msn.com if there is damage. Don't return broken items, it will void the refund/replacement opportunity. We will arrange for the carrier to inspect the damage and then refund/replace accordingly.
SALES TAX
We ship from Oregon which has no sales tax. As such, we currently do not charge or collect for sales tax.
OUT OF STOCK ITEMS
At times we run out of stock on items, which may not always be reflected in the online store. If we do have items for your order in stock, we ship them, minus any out of stock items. Check back in 4 weeks for status on out of stock items. We do not back-order.
SPECIAL ORDERS
We welcome special orders of earlier designs or new designs. contact us with your ideas and requests.
IMPROPER ADDRESS FEES
If you give us an incorrect address, we charge an extra $10.00 to cover the carrier charges to find and re-rout the package to the correct address.
